Highlights
Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world and the second highest peak in Nepal. It is located on the border between Nepal and India. The summit of the mountain stands at a height of 28,169 feet. This mountain is a popular destination for trekking in Nepal.
Kanchenjunga treks offer an extraordinary experience for travelers. They can witness the breathtaking views of the mountains, lush green forests, ice cliffs and glaciers. You can also meet the local people who have their own unique culture.
To visit Kanchenjunga, you need to obtain a special permit. There are two base camps that you can choose from. One is located in the North, while the other is in the South.
Aside from the scenic beauty of the region, you can also explore the different cultures of the Himalayan people. In fact, you can see that the people living in this region are very rich in culture and tradition.
However, to enjoy the true essence of Kanchenjunga, you must have a guide. Hiring a knowledgeable guide will help you make the most of your trek. An experienced guide can give you tips on how to navigate the mountain, and will give you an idea about the region's history.
To experience the beauty of Kanchenjunga, you can visit the area in October. This is when the weather is a little milder than during the summer. During this time, the landscape is less dense, making it easier to travel.
This is a tea-house trip, so rest assured about the hospitality as the locals are very welcoming and friendly. However, the trails are still underdeveloped, so need to be fit and easy trekkers with services.
